A total of fourteen sportsmen and women represented the Balearic Islands at the Olympic Games, and six of them brought home medals; two gold medals, one silver and three bronze.
The Balearic Islands once again made history at the Olympics, this time at Brazil 2016. Mallorcans Rafa Nadal, Marcus Cooper, Alba Torres, Sergio Llull, Rudy Fernández and Álex Abrines all won Olympic medals and brought them home to Mallorca.
Not forgetting the fact that our legendary tennis star, originally from Manacor, was also the flag bearer for the Spanish delegation at the Brazil 2016 Olympics opening ceremony.
